God bless that horn section!

This was at the Agora in Cleveland. I was there.

I missed that one, having become a fan after his 'Whistle Test in Concert (been waiting for the Beeb to repeat it on BBC4) but seen him a bunch since and I was at Little Steven's first Disciples tour at the Nite Club (upstairs at the Playhouse) featuring half the Jukes, which is still in my top 3 gigs.

Pure Rock n Roll like it should be.

nice early Video

This performance is timeless and belongs in the Smithsonian! The tight band, the songwriting, arrangement, and delivery are the stuff rock and roll dreams are made of.

I had this song on vinyl years ago, and the song still sends chills up my spine. A most recognizable voice. I heard he's still working and touring. Hope he comes to Oklahoma.

@BaheidTommy U are so right; It was Monday 21st March 1977 and was and still is the best show i ever saw. Meet GP and Southside at Bruce's Record shop in Rose street too. Perfect Day!

this is definitely between the summer of 1984 and winter of 1985. george ruiz joined in summer of 1984 and billy rush left in the winter of 1985. band lineup here is - ssj-vocal, billy rush-guitar, kevin kavanaugh and rusty cloud-keyboards, steve becker-drums, george ruiz(not gene boccia)-bass, frank elmo (not joey stann)-sax, bobby ferrel-trombone, and mark pender-trumpet.

I just noticed it says on the tape, 'Washington 1984.'
