Goh performed at Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco, June 30th 2009. For those who haven't heard of Goh, imagine fusing the late Elliott Smith and The Beatles together to get folky goodness.
How did I find out about Goh?
I was looking online for local Asian American Musician (knowing that there's not enough of Asian Americans in the music industry) and lo and behold I found Goh. The moment I listened to "Embarcadero Blues", I fell in love with it immidiately. The melody, the honest lyrics, the vibe, it was one of those rare songs where I felt that I can relate myself to. Not only that, I realized that a few of Goh's songs were actually featured in many motion pictures such as "The American Gangster" and the "Feast of Love".
From that day forward, I knew that I have to make a commitment to see him perform live. I met him after the show (believed me I tried not to be star-struck) and it turns out that Goh is just sincerely a down to earth guy. Safe to say, Goh's is personally one of my favorite musician.
