John Canning Studios was the consultant for historic finish exposures and paint analysis, and was responsible for ornamental plaster and all decorative painting, trompe l'oeil, and gilding throughout the ballroom, completed in 1857 and meticulously replicated based on a photograph from the 1860s.

  • Marguerite and John:

Great video! I recognize so many of your projects in the video, such as the CT State Capitol, PA State Capitol, the Treasury Building, and the EEOB! Well done! Had I known that you were doing the work just up Broad Street from our offices at the Navy Yard, I would have stopped by while it was underway. The results are terrific. Our firm oversaw all the earlier interior restoration work, and it's great to see the ballroom finally restored. - Lonnie Hovey
