Just a little video I put together based on the insanely stupid things people say to me as the parent of a Type 1 child. Most of these have been said to me at one time or another.

I had some lady give me a hard time because we were making my daughter "diet" because we were looking up food in the calorie king.

My daughter is not Cat Woman! LOL. I'm a diabetic (type 1) and people say these things to me all the time. Once this idiot girl at my school was talking about how it's not really that hard to get rid of diabetes, even thought it is. Those were her exact words. She said that. To me. She knows I am diabetic.

@loldude83 it's not the fact that someone doesn't know about it... it's the opposite actually... when they think they are the all-knowing diabetic police. Again... no one would ever go up to someone with cancer or aids and forewarn them of their impending death.

@loldude83 If you want to ask us legitimate questions, go right ahead. Most of us will be more than happy to educate you. But we don't need you to educate us. WE've got the 'betus. WE've dealt with the fire-burn of Lantus and the pain of a misplaced injection and the vomit of ketones. We know the consequences of poor management. We've been through it with our pediatricians/endocrinologists/nurses/dieticians/clinicians.We've pretty much got it down. We don't need your help.
