@OneNikolai at a concert he said that he wanted to write a song that combined mystery, murder, and love and he came up with Lake Marie.

John Prine is one of the finest songwriters I`ve ever had the pleasure to absorb thought invoking lyric`s from...200 years from now people will be playing and singing his songs...
& we are VERY lucky we are here to witness his genius.... Cheers to Mr prine.....

Out of tune or not, Prine is amazing. I think it's the mark of a great artist that he/she can still communicate through music even when not everything is 100% right. He can compensate because he and the work is so superior. I can't even tell.

@jordanthecat - This was a compilation show...John Prine only did this one solo song. There's an interview of Elvis Costello talking to talking to John Prine, but just the one song.
On the same show, Ray LaMontagne did two songs, and Lyle Lovett did a song. And then the four of them (John Prine, Ray LaMontagne, Lyle Lovett and Elvis Costello) did "Loretta," a Townes Van Zandt song, together. All of these songs are on YouTube.

Do you have any of the rest of the show, deerfried? I missed it on TV and there doesn't seem to be anything much of it available on YouTube right now.
And in defence of the roadie who tuned John's guitar, I must say that my Gibson J-100 can be tuned perfectly in one room but then be slightly out of tune in the next room if the temperature or humidity is a wee bit different.
