Jacki, 18, suffered an injury to her spine in August, 2003 that left her paralyzed. She was treated in Portugal by Dr. Carlos Lima with her own adult stem cells derived from olfactory mucosa. Dr. Lima's work using adult stem cells to treat spinal cord injuries, such as the treatment Jacki received, will be published this week in the June 24th issue of the peer-reviewed Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine. Jacki is from Waverly, Illinois.

millions that spend tens of thousands on medical supplies, meds, equipment, therapy, etc, annually = hundreds of billions of dollars. These dollars help to fund our money driven political system and line the pockets of career politicians. That's why you won't see America at the forefront of this research where we belong. Kickbacks make the world go round.

It is speeches like this that hopefully change some peoples minds about the stem cell research. If I could give my daughter the gift to walk again, I would do it in a heartbeat. I admire you for your strength in overcoming your injuries and fighting to get back what we take for granted everyday.

Is there a way that I can get this information for my daughter. She was injured 8 years ago, and I would love to find out if she is able to get this procedure done.
