I think is possible to make money if the books cost more than £5.00, I've tried with penny books and NO PROFIT! Amazon takes a big chunk out of postage and lives you with so little. In fact postage cost have risen and Amazon rates are still the same. There's no way you are going to post hardback books for less than £2.48.

You can definitely make extra cash selling books online but quitting a good day job to do it full time is silly. Too much competition and everyone, including thrift stores and libraries are catching on and only putting out penny books. It reminds me of baseball card collecting. In the mid to late 80's everyone was catching on to the fact that certain cards were valuable. Now cards are $5 for a pack of 3.

Buying stuff for cheap and making a profit off of it helps. Always sell stuff that is in demand.

...All depends on what you call worthless? This business gives me a part-time income of £15,000 per annum, which to some people may be worthless, but it's certainly worth a lot to me.
