The old series was great. For its time. This is too "x-files" and blurred. The old series had Kolchak dealing with the more traditional monsters. This is too..."we know its something...but what?" Sometimes, sticking to the old formulae, but adding a new flavour is best. Overall, it was watchable, but not very entertaining for us lovers of the originals. Sorry.

Thanks!  I like the new Night Stalker and I liked the old one, too. Sure, they're different, and Darren McGavin was an excellent actor and he portrayed a very different Kolchak. But this show is good in its own right.

It's too bad that the show was cancelled but, as they say, that's Hollywood.

Also, I note that Frank Spotnitz of X-Files fame was involved with the show.
