In honor & memory of my Dad, Warren Leroy McPhee who passed away 13 years ago on December 29,1997,survived by his beloved wife Florence McPhee(Smyth),nine children, granchildren & great granchildren. My Dad always wore a tie,no matter if he was milking the cows, working in the garden or painting in his body shop,McPhees Garage, which he owned & operated for years providing for his family.I also remember watching Dad shave, and smelling of Old Spice,a smell that comes back to me,over & over. Our upbringing was a very traditional one in the rural setting of Salmon Creek;food homegrown, prepared on a wood stove,we enjoyed the simple pleasures most never have the priviledge of experiencing;fishing in the beaver pond, picking wild berries, skating on the brook near a big winter bonfire. The warmth, magic and charm of our Eastern upbringing on the farm, creates a myriad of memories, colorful imagery fills my mind. The night the call came that Dad was in the hospital,I travelled the hours drive with a heavy heart.I stayed with him the entire night, holding his hand, laying down beside him, touching his face, singing softly, crying,I thought no one should die alone. One week later he was gone. I am looking forward to spending Christmas with my Mother who is 88 years old,my son Joshua, our family pet dog Angel, brothers & sisters, nieces & nephews at my brother Kens who is a survivor of Prostate Cancer.I am blessed indeed. I miss you Dad,your loving daughter Sheila
