This is the ski that Darth Vader would use, because its all black, it looks mean, and might be able to destroy anything in its path. The Head Chip 78 is a wide body, race inspired ski with a big focus of its performance on firm snow skiing. Head found the sidewall material to be too soft for edge grip on solid snow, so they inserted aluminum plugs into the sidewall underfoot, preventing deflection of the material and giving remarkable edging power. And with a waist width of 78mm, it is surprisingly able to handle off piste terrain with the best of the all mountain skis. This ski is for the advanced to expert skier that loves to tear up the groomed runs at high speed, then plow through the crud later in the day.

hey, honestly I don't know what the difference between the PR PRO and the Chip 78 is...but I would guess that there isnt much of a difference at all (if any). Sometimes pro models have enhanced edges/sidewalls to stiffen them up...but this ski is pretty much a pro model on its own
