I am listening to the message in this video and getting it into my spirit. Every now and then, pure unadulterated, sincere, basic down to earth advice is given by a sincere, down to earth wonderful human being and good man. This video is testament into the character of Bruce Springsteen. I will be taking this video to heart. Thank you for posting it. Ti Amo, Ti Amo, Ti Amo

thank you for posting this... I was there at Carnegie Hall that night...damn I'm covered in goosebumps...Yep I saw and met Harry several times.... he'd always come out after the shows to sign copies of his book with proceeds of all sales going to World Hunger Year.. great man, great music....and what a tribute to have Bruce tell that story and inspire others to keep pressing on in his honor and memory... Yes Harry we do sorely missyou :( the world's not the same without you in it.

Thanks for posting this! I have listened to a cassette copy of this benefit for the past 20 years but this is the first time I have seen the video. This may be the most beautiful tribute I have ever heard! All the more amazing when you realize that Bruce isn't reading from a script.
The "shared vision and purpose" comment is dead on! I hope musicians realize the power music has to pull us all together. Bruce's music continues to be a source of tremendous inspiration for me.

I first met Harry when he played at Smithtown High School West on Long Island, 1976. I was 17 and he took the time to talk to me about commitment to a cause. I miss him dearly as does the rest of the world. This is a performance that brings tears to me, and I am not ashamed to admit that.
