I needed only temporary housing for 25 jumbo fryers. At night I bring the birds to the inside and close the door. The plywood laying across the corner is to keep the occasional flyer from jumping from the "roost" and over the wall.

  • I don't think they'd make it up the kennel portion, but they'd easily climb the pallets.

  • Where do they lay their eggs?? Or are they all males for chicken soup, fried chicken etc??

  • get some of the garden netting from Lowes. Its cheap, pull it over the whole top of the yard. Tie it to the fence. Let it hang over the top of gate also. Hawks and owls won't get in.

  • coyotes , bobcats, coons. etc.... will eat the chickens. You have to close it up very well. You should rethink the ''quick'' setup. Not to mention the hawks.

  • Do they ever fly out? I thought about the kennel idea but I was worried about my chickens getting out and getting hurt by dogs or something.

  • The cats can climb that fence with little effort. 2 of my cats climb our 6' chain link with no problem. Very nice coop though

  • nice Dude!

  • Smart

  • You think cats can climb up the dog kennel?
