  • ~ Where was the pic at 6:25 taken? It looks like the cabins at NOC (Nantahala Outdoor Center) in North Carolina. Am I right or wrong?

  • @LordHillsidor

You are right! It was taken at the NOC during the 2007 Southern Ruc.

  • How are you supposed to get to Springer Mountain?

  • @FSVR54 if you stay at the hiker hostel, they'll give you a ride up within a mile of the start. Or you could take a cab to amicalola falls and start on the approach trail.

  • After watching hundreds of vids I've decided this is my favorite.

  • @mrsparex

    Thanks a bunch!

  • I would think there are two main kinds of people who make this trek. Retirees, and young folks who haven't started their settled down lives. I don't think my boss would give me a 6 month vacation for this.

  • Beautiful pics, and good to see a South-bound video! I plan to hike southbound when I get out of the Navy in 2 years, and i couldn't ask for a better motivator than this video!

  • Thanks for sharing, great montage of pics.

  • @Glucoperon his hike went through the winter, of course it will look gloomy

  • have to say that the USA is the most beautiful country in the world

  • the beginning is in Maine and New Hampshire, some of the most beautiful states in the USA, visit if you haven't already!!

  • @FSVR54 How far is that you think. . . from georgia to the top of the North Carolina /Virginia state line meet on the AT trail?

  • @LordHillsidor . . .Im going to be hiking the AT from Ga. to N.C. for the first time. If you could give me some tips that would be great

  • Nice, Been here 2:34 at Harper's Ferry many times, as well as the bridge overlook of the river. I live here. Never been on the AT for a real hike however. I really want to do the whole thing. I met a couple at the HF AT Conservancy office that convinced me the most I need to do it, even with bad knees. Just do it at the pace needed. GREAT video!

  • @spittinpigeon DAmn right! thats what i did, I hiked the PCT instead of getting a job. Im still unemployed... and lovin it. the problem is, now I want to hike another trail. Working for the next 40 years?? Dont think so-

    Hike on my friends!!
