@charmed9193, she didn't say ALL of the awards given until hers were because of politics, she was just stating the truth. People needed to there that.
Many times over the years, I've watched them give awards away to actors/actresses who didn't deserve them & I hoped & prayed that this time, the right person would get that award. She did.
Monique was a wonderful in "Precious". Her ability to make you feel for her, cry for her, hate her, love her, that's what an Actress is suppose to do.

Right - she won for her depiction of a vicious ghetto bitch which did the image of black women no favors. Neither did Halle Berry's Oscar winning role or Hattie McDaniels. Monique is full of herself and she better enjoy it because white fiolks arent going to cast her fat ass in any real roles after this. SHe will be discarded like Cuba Gooding was after his Oscar win.

@ charmed9193, her intention was not to offend anybody, she was speaking about herself in regards to politics. She received alot of backlash from the media because she wasn't campaigning and attending every single award show that had nominated her. That is what she was referring to when speaking about politics.
