I feel degrauss fails to comprehend that the only way to educate most of the people here in the US about science is to grab them by the throat and shake the living shit out of them. Religion was beat into them with a 2x4. It's going to take a ball bat to get it out.

Like him, or hate him. He is very well spoken, and even more intelligent. It does not take a gargantuan dose of science to realize this quite honestly, but if you want one... read his books.

Most important, dialogue-shifting, influential evolutionary biologists to exist since Darwin himself.

In all honesty, and I really did not come here looking for an argument, so don't expect to get one. Of most forums on the internet where just anyone can chime in and say whatever they are thinking, this is amongst the lousiest... consistently

The debates are just trite and/or dumb.

Dawkins is a "godsend" to his field. He is an especially astute scientist, and i would sincerely doubt that anyone who says he isn't a good scientist even caries a degree in science.

Richard is, in fact, a very polite and reasonable man who has made substantial contributions to society.
