Camp Bastion to Kandahar Air Base aboard Canadian Griffon

Feb 13 2010 - After covering the opening stages of Operation Moshtarak in the southern province of Helmand, Tara and I where escorted from the British Base of Camp Bastion back home to KAF on a Canadian Griffon helicopter.

The journey took 1 hour. Some of the most stunning scenery I have ever seen. The shots are a little shaky. But so would you be at 500 feet and no doors.

@blstname, mmm, they say that it is faster than the apache, and the cobra, and we needed escorts for our new second hand chinooks which is still faster than the griffin. And we have the griffins so why not. they use them for alot more than that too. Troop transport Recce, first aid, UN, Search and rescue back here in Canada, Special Forces JTF2, pretty much our entire entity revolves around the griffin.
