The holiday season arrives early every year in Grayling, Michigan, when the Grayling Promotional Association holds its Festival of Trees fundraiser. Decorated by groups and businesses from all over town the two dozen Christmas trees are raffled off as is, with lights and decorations wired in place for easy transport. The event runs through Nov. 22 at noon, when winning tickets are drawn. Until then, the colorful scene is worth a look. You'll find trees themed in everything from NASCAR to Michael Jackson and decorated with items ranging from pet toys to wine glasses. You can view the trees at the Grayling Mini Mall, located right on the Business Loop, just north of highway I-75. In fair warning - you'll likely find a tree you covet and tickets cost $2 each or six for $10.
