I agree. I would have been much more impressed with the safety play if the cue ball had been made to freeze on or at least stop near a blocking ball. If you can take away 1-rail kicks and jump shots, your opponent is going to have a tougher time taking offensive shots or countering with another safe...

I should elaborate and say that the safeties shown in general allow the other player to gain control at the table.

I question if every single shot was intended. I would be impressed if every shot went out as planned, rather than shot with optimism. Where the cueball ended up on the kicks and two-way shots, the pots weren't intended, or not enough thought was considered if they were to miss.

This is all opinion of course. I just don't understand what makes these shots special or amazing :)

I never ever try to say negative things because there are too many trolls on Youtube.

However, I have to question what makes these shots remarkable and 'best shots' of the championship? A lot of the shots are standard shots in 9-ball so I wasn't too impressed. What does impress me is the technique of the players - they are all pretty solid cueists.

The safety play in most of the shots was loose, I'd be showing safeties where you have a lot of work to escape, not simple shots.
