You don't need to say it again, no. Because when drag racing, you're set to shift at optimum times and rpms, which quite often aren't the same rpm as the last gear due to gearing specific to the modifications you're running.

An aftermarket tach with launch control? Maybe if it's also a rev limiter. But if you want launch control, learn how to control the throttle. A shift light? Right, because you need to shift at the same point in ever gear... Need I say rice again?
