You could invest $100 and get a ballast from this one cat named Glitch.
Visit the Lincoln vs Cadillac forum website if you haven't already and you'll see his "magic ballast" being praised and all that since many who post there are Mark VIII enthusiasts who at some point had the same prob with the neon beam and were pleasantly surprised when the Glitch Ballast brought the beam back to life.

That's nice. I wish my rear neon worked on my '97 LSC. I've been thinking about putting LED's in there. Cheaper than a new ballast.

Because this Car is American and Most American Cars don't use Amber colored lights in the back.. Some jeeps and maybe a couple fords I could be wrong but amber color would be stupid on any car for rear Blinkers
