Dr. Craig Barrett, retired CEO and chairman of Intel and honoree of the 2009 Botwinick Prize in Business Ethics, describes the biggest ethical challenge he faced in his career and offers advice on how to instill an ethical culture among employees. He also discusses what made him most proud at Intel, the leadership challenges facing businesses today, how business leaders can influence students, why businesses should be concerned about social outcomes and how it contributes to the bottom line, and his views on technology and international development.

The 2009 Social Enterprise Conference took place on October 9 at Columbia Business School. The conference shed light on the entire process for social ventures -- from vision to specific practices -- and addressed how organizations can gain momentum and strength during the global economic downturn.
