Wednesday May 30th, 2012, in London, England, 150 people gathered in front of Canada House, off Trafalgar square, in solidarity with the students on strike in Quebec, and the protest of the special law 78. They marched through Mayfare to the Quebec government's head quarters on Heddon St, and then on to the Canadian Embassy off Grosvenor Square.

Are people still arguing about this? It was revealed several months ago that Charest was aware universities are not underfunded and the research was hidden. This is where student groups got their statistics to prove their argument.

Look. We're the most taxed province in Canada. Can we get our fucking social services? Like affordable tuition fees?? Maybe be if the rest of Canada fought like us, we wouldn't be the only province with such 'low' rates.

This whole thing is a load of crap. Quebec tuition fees are the lowest in Canada and yet Quebec has the lowest post secondary participation rate in Canada. Even if Charest had got his tuition fee hike passed, they would still be the lowest in Canada. The student's victory is temporary. The new premier Marois will raise tuition fees somewhat when the issue is studied further, she said as much during the campaign. I hope that the students are true to their beliefs and protest when she does this.

Workers with education earn statistically much more money than workers without education. The concept of free education does not actually exist, since people with education will pay more taxes for their whole life. Politicians like Jean Charest like to have citizens that are not too educated, since these electors are easier to manipulate and buy (offering them jobs in mines, natural resources and other sectors where you don't need to use your head that much).
