Indonesia's Mobile Brigade, better known as BRIMOB, is a police unit, but one trained along military lines.

Credited with crippling Jemaah Islamiyah, the force is also accused of human rights abuse.

As Fauzia Ibrahim reports, BRIMOB is now trying to reform itself, and improve its reputation.

VIVA TIMOR LESTE! My family has seen and dealt with the indonesians corruption. We shouldn't be blaming the country as a whole but we should blame it on there Corrupt Government and Military. Cousins, uncles, aunts have been killed, harrassed, abussed. I forgive them seeing as they got rid of Suharto. Indonesians are great and friendly people, so I have nothing against them.

  • @GhostofBattosai Timor Leste getting invaded and massacred by indonesians and later turned on eachother when the indonesians paid militias to raid their villages?

  • @fadhlier yeah, i know, i have many friends from eastern indonesia and they won't support the separatist. I'm just commented to the person who supported the rebellion. I'M VERY SORRY TO WHOEVER THAT OFFENDED BY MY COMMENT, I PROMISE IT WON'T APPEAR AGAIN.

  • @fazilnbira not all maluku and papua people want to separate their regions from indonesia, ur comment might be offensive for people in these provinces

  • @PanahWaaier what can you do for papua and maluku if they separate from indonesia? can these provinces manage their governance by themselves without jakarta's help? yes, i admit that indonesian government focuses on jakarta in developing indonesia
