Today I rode the D&H Rail to trail, I started out in Forest City, there are several bridge crossings over the Lackawanna River, some of the trail is sand covered and robs your speed, and you do have to dodge the Horse droppings on the trail

After about the 8 mile mark the trail gets pretty ruff, but I wanted to get my 20 miles in.
I was talking to Nancy who I met at the 5 mile mark, she has been on the Forestry and rail to trail Council for a combined 21 years, and she said they were going to improve the next ten miles next year.
You can follow this D&H Rail all the way to New York!

  • I have the 2011 Specialized Hardrock disc and I jump it all the time. As long as the jumps are well built and smooth (and you know how to jump) this bike is great. I am 6'4'' about 200 lbs and have been riding it hard for over a year doing my own maintenance and the bike still feels new. It rolls like a dream downhill and outclimbs any full suspension bike easily!

  • @spraast

Definately a great climbing bike, I hated the front fork on rougher trails, much to soft for me

  • yea for sure i try not to jump my bike but I get crazy some times haha, nice chattin to you your a cool guy

  • I hear you, I have been riding a little ruffer trails lately, last week the trail was root infested, but so much fun.

The better my leg feels the more challenging trails I'll be riding. Hopefully next Summer I'll hit up some of our singletrack, that will be tuff.

Take care, have fun, and above all else, ride!

  • I heard a lot of complaints about the rims, I don't plan on doing any jumps, so mine should last.

  • yea good bike, one thing though is the rim that came on it got bent so every time i rude it rubs kind of so i need to get a new rim, hopefully when i get out of school i can get enough money to upgrade the bike

  • It is a great bike, very versatile, hasn't let me down yet!

  • same bike i have great bike I ride mine 18 miles a day school and back
