On 8-Jun-2004, I captured this video of Venus transiting the Sun with my Sony camcorder and a pair of sun glasses :)

What is even more interesting is during this 2012 solar maximum cycle the most intense and vigorous eruption's of the sun spews out magma that develop into spherical globes of rock, carbon and iron tens and hundred's time's the size of earth and are new global killers that could assume earth's orbit around the sun. for all you dooms day freaks you couldn't get so lucky cause this 2012 solar maximum there are only fraction's of scenario's that could eventually end up as the doom's day scenario.

@darkedsnake Now imagine a Star that's 260,000 times bigger then ours and place it next to it in our sky. Do a vid search for Canis Majoris. It'll freak you out.

@hiccup95 A low power telescope or a pair of binoculars will do it, but make sure to properly cover the lens as the Sun is very bright. In my case I used a Sony handycamcorder with 16x optical magnification.
