I would have thought of Carter even if not being told, job well done. Betty do you think Rick could share some of his carpentry skills, other than his tools. If he has carved other things it would be really fun to see and maybe his work station. I love my kitchen tools but also love what most consider men's tools. I could shop for hours (and have)in a hardware store. Shopping at Sear's or Home Depot and antique shopping is the best.

I think Rick did in awesome job. You two are a really talented couple. It's amazing how much you two do separately and together. Idolistic. Hopefully when our kids are older my husband will allow me to pursue my passion of cooking :)

Wow. You could make a nice income from carving custom portrait pumpkins :)
umm betty may i ask why my comment was removed. ahah its the same thing again. was it something offensive. this is what it said. -->>> hello, viewer number 301 we have been waiting for you :)
lol i meant that because on youtube this thing sorta happens where the amount of views doesn't change. it wasn't meant to be offensive.. :)

@ilovemystubbynails1 I remember the comment and thought it was cute. I did not remove it--don't know what happened. Sorry for the confusion, and hope your feelings are not hurt.

Did you really pull that off on your first try Rick?
Last night was my first attempt at making an Elvis pumpkin and it ended up looking more like a post-op Chaz Bono so it's currently sitting in my compost pile. Thankfully the pumpkin patch is only a mile down the road so I can screw up a couple more times before resorting to triangle shape eyes and fangs.

@smartbet Yep, one try, one pumpkin. If it had been trashed, this video would have never seen the light of day.

Well, that was really cool. I didn't expect the light to show through, so I was a bit puzzled at the start of the video as to how this glowing pumpkin affect was going to be achieved. Again, very cool!

@cocoapeach I didn't show it, but I also went inside the pumpkin and scraped the flesh thinner where I wanted the light to be transmitted. I used a plain old ice cream scoop, but anything that's circular and has an edge will do.
