This game is special. Very special! And the very first title from the Gaia trilogy on the SNES.

Made by Quinted, following ActRaiser, its easy to spot some similarities (we talk to "The Master" aka GOD, as the most immidiate).

So the world is in ruins. To rebuild it, we must navigate dungeouns, temples and other places (in true Zelda style) rescuing people, animals or plants (handy thing, we can speak to both animals and plants!).

By further exploring and rebuilding the villages, you also get new equipment, new magic and the odd item that will help you solve a puzzle down the line.

From this simple gameplay mechanics, it blossoms into a truly unique, magnificnet game, that never fails to impress graphics our sound wise, either.

A true Enix classic, that I would really love to see on the Wii VC. And also as a new game, along with ActRaiser, sequels are way overdue on these IPs!

  • I tried Illusion of Gaia on the ROM, but I can't seem to get past the main menu on Soul Blazer.

I'm just wondering which is better story-wise?

    ...

And if any of them can be bought on the Wii?

  • @WrinryRockBellFMA Sadly, ActRaiser was the only Quintet game to arrive on the Wii Virtual Console. It's very differente from Gaia and Terranigma and by no means worse. Keep at it, it's worth it! =)

  • Did they rip the sound effects straight from Act Raiser?

  • @Metafron Same developers, Quintet. The sound FX appear in some of their other SNES games as well.

  • I think the Super Nintendo's game library is the best of any system.

  • 1:15 hmm this reminds me of something..

  • 1:16 then I took an arrow to the knee

  • good memories, Soul Blazer, a Link to the Past, Lagoon

  • Terranigma is the best of the three games, folks.

  • @WrinryRockBellFMA Depends. IoG and Terranigma are better titles. Story-wise and all. But Soul Blazer is indeed, in my opinion a challenging title. Pity, I say these games didn't get more respect they deserve. No wonder RPG's are the way they are now. Anyway, I enjoyed the video. Brings back a lot of memories. <3 Check my channel. I'm into the old school rpg stuff. =D

  • Link had gotten the dream rod from this guy and accidentally touched the Wind fish with it during the storm at sea. It broke and Link was stuck in the dream until the Wind fish woke up.

    Jeez I'm a nerdy geez :(

  • OMFG SO MANY MEMORIES

  • @McScreamo it replenishes your life points on it's own when you die but you need to make sure you have it equipped before you die. Hope that helps :)
