Playing the Role of Your Model
There is a strange habit in me. Of course, I never noticed it. It was also not noticed by everyone, but there were quite a few who observed and told me about it.
This is one of those things that you do unconsciously, never really trying to do them. The habit I am talking bout is that when I walk I inadvertently swing very slightly from side to side. I do not put any conscious effort for doing this, it just happens to me naturally.
I knew about this habit even when I was a teenager. Few times I tried changing this habit, but I have never been able to change my natural gait. Even my training in marching could not obliterate this habit.
And how did I get this habit? Most likely from my Mom. She had this habit of swinging slightly from side to side when she walked.
I remember when I was quite small I asked my Mom how she had developed this peculiar habit. At first she was surprised that she had this habit, apparently no one had told her about it. She could not really figure out how she developed this behavior.
Maybe in her time such things were not important. In any case she never bothered about it. But I copied her sub--consciously, without any deliberate effort.
The point is that by observing and trying to copy actions and thinking patterns of your role models you can actually start behaving like them. I am sure you will be able to find many examples from your own experience.
And this is true of internet marketing as it is for any other field.
Most of the internet marketers are not even able to recover cost they have incurred, leave alone making profits. On the other hand there are experts, the Gurus, who earn in millions every year.
How do they do it? They work with the same resources that are available to any one, yet the results they get are extraordinary.
What can you do to get similar results? What can you do to think the way they do? The present Gurus have also had their days of struggle, but they grew out of it.
You may be knowing the names of several successful internet marketers. You can find their stories when you search their names in the search engines.
Their names are keywords and when you try to search them on Google the page count will go to tens of thousands. Their names have become their BRANDS.
One way to become like one of them is to study their characteristics as you observe them and start behaving like them. Imagine that you are already one of them and do as you expect them to do.
This technique will not give you instant result but, over the time, it will help you develop the mind set that is required for success in internet business.
This will project you as an expert in your own right and will create your brand image. You need to BRAND yourself in internet business -- "Brand YOU". But decide precisely how you would like to appear to your followers who will be looking up at you as a role model.
Then try and live that role.
It will be easier if you try to do the role of a real person about whom you have sufficient information to accept him/her as an example to follow. Remember, in your internet marketing business, you need to work on yourself as much as you work for your marketing.
You need to develop the mindset for success.
