  • @moldyoreo Sorry to offend you. I'm a Baroque musician as well. It's a mixture of Russian method, bad habits, and playing too much Baroque viola. No one is perfect (except for you, of course).

  • There's a limit to how far you can milk the joke. Half the audience know the punch line already, including the fellow in the front row who will roar HO HO HO and clap to show he knows. I once played this in a Beijing park on a Sunday morning, where NOBODY had ever heard the piece, and we were able to count 12 full bars before downing tools. Can't do that in the Wigmore Hall.
