These hoses suck balls. Myself, and my neighbor in my RV park have both gone through four of these in a matter of two months.. The thermostats keep failing in them. I finally cut the cheap thermostat out of mine and spliced the wires together to make it work. I just plug it into a thermostat controlled electrical plug adapter.
Do yourselves a favor, and stay away from these pieces of shit. You'd be better off putting a heater cable on a white drinking hose.
@RVtravel - The claim is they WORK to -41 degrees Fahrenheit, which is a false claim.. RVers are better off to use heat trace cable on the hose they normally use and insulate that... It is much cheaper... And less headache..
Most RVers will not be camping at those extreme low temperatures, so the hose will work for them. If what you say is true, then RVers should find another way to protect their hoses at extreme temperatures. But I suspect that nearly all RVers who need and use the hoses do so at temperatures above zero, at the lowest.
I am staying at an RV park in the winter here in northern Alberta ,Canada.. Everyone here in this park has this hose, and every single one of them freezes between -10c to -20.. They are all installed EXACTLY as the manufacturer suggests.. They may have been "tested' to -40c, but they sure as hell don't work past -20c.. Save your money, these hoses are GARBAGE..
