Dry Ice in Bottle

This version of making the dry ice bomb is supposed to be safer than just loading a 2-L bottle full of dry ice. The instructions come from Exploscience.com and calls for the use of an additional baking soda & vinegar reaction. I either didn't wait long enough to try the first toss or it just takes the right impact for the bottle. The sound on the video does not do justice to the explosion.

Is that coat and those goggles REALLY necassary???

@faakid The lab coat is sometimes a habit and also something I wear to keep warm since my dress code doesn't allow other options. The goggles are necessary because I have had several of these go off in my hand and they do produce a descent amount of shrapnel, also I model proper safety for my students and that means not cutting corners, and finally, I did other demos right before this where the goggles were necessary and so it is mostly me not interrupting the flow of teaching to take them off.
