This video shows how much time you win by dropping the cube in the air and stopping the timer instead of deliberately putting the cube down with both hands and then stopping the timer.

The difference is ~0.167s.

Of course dropping the cube is faster, but it is also more risky because the layers can get misaligned or pieces could fall out as the cube falls down and drops on the mat.

Putting the cube down is more safe.

  • this video looks stupid, but its actually not. Thank you! :)

  • Sometimes when it's dropped there's +2 though...

or a another dent in the stack timer...

or accidentaly hitting the reset button...

    lol.

    nice vid though.

  • Nice video Lars - scientific! I throw my cube at a quicker competitor to try and put them off - it's my only chance of ranking higher! :)

  • I drop it as I'm making my last turn.

  • I just beeline it to the Stackmat.

  • You are my hero! :)

It is that simple, isn't it? Thanks for making this video, it should be helpful for everyone!

  • Very useful Lars. I use the dropping too.

  • What do you prefer?
