(continuing from previous) Just because they were living in a dutch colony does not mean that they will instantly act dutch. They will still be english and act accordingly. This anglicised pattern of culture hence was transmitted to future generations through socialization.

@juultjuh99 Yes they colonized the caribbean just like most of western europe. However, the nature of colonization was different in the dutch west indies than in the french or british west indies. For example, in Saba when the dutch regained control of the colony in the 1660s they DID NOT deport the english settlers that lived there. As such there was a situation where the colony was dutch but the composition of the population is english.

@juultjuh99 Its the official language but nobody speak it. The Dutch were not very good at colonizing.
