@raginroadrunner your making sense if it werent for a know more than 1 guy from them days,they r still hemi guys but have tons of respect for cammers and bosses.cammers were scrapped cause of it being outlawed in most classes of racing because nhra and nascar and many others didnt want 1 company dominating .the chains were a prob but also easily solved.
@raginroadrunner - for the record, the Corvette and the Mustang are not really in the same class now - apples and oranges. Check the sticker price on each and you will see what I mean. The Corvette is now more directed at the Porsche and Ferrari crowd. Back in the day (mid-70's) the Corvette was a piece of crap for the most part - I know, I had one. Great road car, but not a rocket by any means and it had no re-sale value at all - "wrap your ass in fibreglass".
@raginroadrunner - SAAB needs to stick to building aircraft and not cars. I like the new Challenger with the Hemi - class act for sure. Wish I had space in my garage and my wallet, but that's life. As for the Taurus, say what you will but it's a strong runner even if it doesn't fit into your idea of a car. Just be careful when you meet one at a light. I still remember us doing in a 68 Charger with a 64 Galaxie station wagon. Amazing what a 390 will do when it's done up right - take care - Ken.
@raginroadrunner - yeah but seeing is believing. Some of these Taurus cars are running in the 11 second range. Reminds me that rear-wheel V-8 power isn't always necessary to go fast - SAAB - "Shape Appears Ass Backwards" ;-)
@hipofalcon ..."Taurus"???...front wheel drive V 6....???...........I think I'd rather drive a Saab..Gee thanks...but...no thanks...I'm not a V6 front wheel drive type guy..../and i sure as hell ain't gonna start start now....
@raginroadrunner - I hear you. I like all makes actually and they all have strong and weak points. I for one have had all of the "Big 3", and at the same time, so it was easy to compare. Ford doesn't have a lot lately - the mustang, but, take a look at the new Taurus SHO - not a supercar, but it will kick a Camaro's ass every time!
@JTurner427...Dude..I said I was there during that time....I know all about Ford engines that failed miserably..most of them weren't worth the cast iron to build them.....Cammers were .."JUNK"..if not..why did Ford drop them???????????..they were poorly engineered....the front cam chains would take about 3 runs and they were trash.....you weren't there....I can tell by the way to talk,...,all you know is what you have read in a book somewhere...go away...
