Students' Health Show - Vitamin D
Episode 1: D-up Your Body
We are a group of students finishing our BSc degrees. For our Consumer Journalism and Broadcast Media module we came up with the idea of creating a series of health programmes pertinent to students' health.
For our very first episode we have chosen vitamin D deficiency. We explain what this vitamin, actually a hormone, is and why we can become deficient and what we can do to prevent it. In the show, our presenter (Oprah, watch out) introduces two students who suffer from vitamin D deficiency and we also give some expert foodie tips. This assignment is not only about a current consumer health issue, but it also covers video making skills, marketing and leadership.
This being our first time, you will see that some of the footage is not exactly picture perfect, nor our performances for that matter. But we very much hope that the fact we had so much fun making this video will show through and that you will enjoy watching it. Our raw footage, using green screen, was edited in Sony Vegas Pro 10 software and considering we are all video amateurs we loved using it as it was quite intuitive and full of possibilities. Please let us know if you liked our first video-making attempt.
Please comment if you have any pointers or questions on the topic of vitamin D, or on videography even! And if there is any topic you would like us to cover next time just let us know!

@deedeeosborne Hello "deedeeosborne". Thank you for your comment. We would not really recommend vit D supplements as they do not tend to be as effective. The odd cod liver oil capsule would do, or have some oily fish once a week - you cannot really beat a roast mackerel with black olives, lemon and lemon thyme : ))
Have a lovely Christmas!!
