Doom Dragon - Total Pwnage

Note: an easier strat (which is much less stringent on high levels and ultra rare items is now available right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCOiIE1fOX0 ).

The strategy created is a modification of Iron Knuckle's version in the Golden Sun FAQ at gamefaqs. This vid was made with a level 90+ party and many Excaliburs, Riot Gloves, Mythril Helms & Hyper Boots. Furthermore Garet, Isaac and Felix are at Master class (Attack 170%!!! of base class), Piers is on Cavalier, and Ivan is at Necromage Class (equip Tomegathericon with 3 Mars/Venus/Mercury Djinn) so he can summon the power that be Dullahan. Using the Excalibur's unleash: "Legend" and Dullahan's Formina Sage each head can be slain in ONE turn.

Granted these character levels are very high, so as mentioned at the start it's possible with much weaker characters using a different strategy. :P

@trogdorburninating Not unless you have Excalibur's unleash hit all three times, which combined does more damage. Also, the unleash for the Excalibur's are wind based while Sol Blade is Earth based, so Legend does more damage with all three unleashes hitting than Megiddo.

I can beat him with a trient and get sheba cast impact on Felix with the sol blade and gets up 999 atck points by cast impact but to easy to beat

Holy crap! And I thought I did well beating it in less than 15 minutes, but you did it in just under 2. Damn, man. Something to strive for, I guess.

Nice. Very very nice. I actually just beat the doom dragon at level 40 with little to no problems using the traditional, buff, beat down, heal strategy. It takes quite a bit longer, but is mostly just as effective.

lol, sorry for the time but I didn't know you answered me until today XD I know about unleash rate boosting items, what I meant was: How many times did you have to try unless all Legends dealt TRIPLE damage? Legend deals triple damage only 60% of a time, 8 out of 9 is MUCH easier then getting Excalibur from Sunshine (which is really hard to get in first few tries). Also, items grant you max 94% (99% for one lucky man with Valkyrie Mail)

I got to doom dragon about 3 months after this game first came out. It took FOREVER to kill him because my characters were in their 40's! (and I don't mean their ages either!)
