@patty903 I had two ferrets, one caught what I'd call ammonia and died and the other got lymphoma and died before I could get her surgery. They lived to approx 8 years. I was told by a breeder that they live from 6-8 years on average. After that, I'd still get a couple more. They're GREAT pets and I'd recommend them to anyone. They both may have got sick and died but, I still don't believe ferrets will most likely have surgery one time in there life.

ok, i want a ferret badly but the thing that stops me from getting one is that everyone says the ferrets will most likely have to go to the vet for a major surgery one time in there life. is that true, also can u tell me how to pick a good ferret?? plz help
