@elecks441 Prequels piss on the original trilogy basically. All the reasons Patton mentions are why many people were disappointed. How could someone mess up the origin of Darth Vader? It was probably best that his origin wasn't told anyway. Do the prequels add anything substantial to what we already knew in the Original Trilogy? Lucas fucked up EVERYTHING in the prequels, everyone knew what was going to happen and how it was supposed to happen, except Lucas. He even managed to fuck up pre-established things! Anakin was a great pilot, He knew he had a son and wanted him to become a jedi, he gave obi-wan his lightsabre, he must have know Owen Lars well, cause Owen wouldnt allow it - Yoda Instructed Obi-Wan, Leia remembered her mother etc. None of this happened, instead we got a tons of shit just crowbarred in.

George only directed a New Hope out of the OT. For the later two he just co-wrote the script. Not to mention that George had a lot of ideas that were really stupid and the very talented people he was working with had the guts to actually tell him to change them. Something that would never happen now that he's become some sort of industry legend.

@Hammyofdoom1 No I don't understand why. I tend to think "Hardcore" fans look at the originals through rose tinted glasses. Some act like 14yr olds who are just want more "cool stuff" in the movies, Like Seeing Darth Vader in Ep1. Sure, there are some things that could have been done better or changed but the exact same could be said for the originals. At the end of the day it's George's saga, We are just here along for the ride.
