  • Grew up in Springfield; listened to Ozark Jubilee every Saturday night. Did not live too far from Red and wife in Brentwood. I loved the Tall Timber Trio with Slim, Speedy, and Bob. I used to always request Peace in the Valley on a music talk show here in Tulsa back where the DJs would always play a spiritual tune to close their show. Those were great days with the Ozark Jubilee in town at the old Landers theatre. Remember Hawkshaw Hawkins? And, of course, L.D. Keller and the Promanaders!

  • would you believe the Landers Theatre still exist in Springfield? Before it was at the Landers it was at the Jewell theatre just around the corner from the Landers. Where the Jewell theatre was is now a park.

  • send me you address and I will send you the dvd.

  • Just send me your address and I will send you a copy of some of the Ozark Jubilee shows at no cost.

  • Red Foley is one of my favorites. You probably know that his son-in-law was Pat Boone.

Do you have any of the Ozark Jubilees that featurecd Jim Reeves or that he hosted? I'd love to see those. By the way, that picture is Ava Gardner not me. I used that on a video I posted and for whatever reason they use it for me.

  • he sang from the heart theres no other like him

  • My beloved Grandmother passed away today. Red was her favorite singer and this was her favorite song by Red. God Bless ya Grandma!

  • where can i find the dvd of the ozark jubilee

  • @BOBFORDD I'm Laura's mom and Speedy's daughter. You've sent me some Jubilee stuff for which I'm eternally grateful, and yes Martha that owned the Pancake House was Dad's mother, my grandmother, and Slim's sister.

  • Hi Bob. I got your cd's and mom and I watched them and just love them. thank you so much. And yes Aunt Martha who had the pancake house on glenstone was my dad's mom, my grandmother, and Laleapop66 great grandma.

  • Thanks for posting a great man. I've been trying and have failed in all efforts to find one of his songs. It was the flip side of Ol' Shep. Unfortunately, we wore the record out and it's too degraded to even try to recover. The title was Don't Make Me Go To Bed. I cry when I even think about his version of it. Does anyone out there have it?
