Okay, it's not that great, but I'll try my best to get some more videos up soon. I know I'm not Geddy Lee, Cliff Burton, Les Claypool, or any bass player with 10+ years experience, but I'm not bad. My technique, tone, and equipment has upgraded since this was taped, so please don't be arrogant saying that I suck without being able to support your statement.
I use a Boss ME-50b pedal with chourus, metal distortion, and slow gear filter. I'm sorry, I miss a few notes,I'm also playing out of a crappy rig,so the sound won't be the best, but tell me what you think anyway. I wrote this to show off my madd bass skills, lol. Thank you Steven for recording me, and thanks Kinzer for uploading this onto my account. Please note: look at my profile page before you decide to make a comment, because I know who Flea, Cliff Burton, and Jaco Pastorius are.

  • I think your suffering from poor note choices. I was there when I was your age. Watch my videos for pointers etc. I just started posting some, but it will give you a good handle and understanding how to approach a distorted solo. That distortion you used was nightmarish and annoying to the ears. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Thanks for the advice! Yes, I'm not proud of the solo myself now, seeing how much time has passed since it was filmed, but I've taken music theory classes and am understanding how to play with a bit more skill. I'll definitely check your videos out. I'm also working out the distortion problems with my pedal. An E aeolian scale does get annoying after awhile though, I do have to say. I appreciate your help! :)

  • Why the horrible sound?

I think it will be much better with a different sound :)

  • What do you mean? The chorus, the distortion, or the amp itself? Thanks for the comment though! I don't have a decent camera now, but the amp problem has been taken care of...so once I get a few extra dollars and my amp paid off, I'll be sure to post some better videos!

  • I don't know... The mix of all that perhaps. I didn't like the distortion. Maybe the camera makes the sound bad aswell!

But I want to see a new movie of you, so post one more please! :)

  • Probably. I really wish I could post up another video, but I don't think youtube could upload something from my crappy webcam. It only records up to a minute anyway.

If you'd like to see some videos of my old band (warning the singer/guitarist is terrible) that I took this video with look up Stevenemm Word is Bond. ;) I'm sorry about the lack of videos! I listened to a lot of Metallica when I came up with this song, so that's why I use the distortion, lol.
