How to destroy a classic - stick to your own material Bono & Keys.

Killed a GREAT sound. Have full respect for the performers, stick to your original music and leave good music alone please!

Dire. No emotion whatsoever.

Same old bono crap, righteous even in a cover version, like Alicia normally

Well, you can count the bass in 6/8, but the accents on the other instruments and vox all indicate 3/4 to me. But really, the point is that this version makes it an obvious 6/8 compound feel, without the ambiguity of the original, and that has a huge impact on the feel... it kills it, in my opinion.
Would Alicia Keys just hold the fucking notes she's supposed to hold? "Don't give uhh-oo-uhh-ooo-ahh-haa-uuuuuh--uuupp." Jesus Christ.

Wow, both of these artists are in way over their heads on this one. Gabriel and Bush's clean, clear, passionate vocals made this song resonate, busy vocal runs and Whitney Houston-esque affectations dilute the raw energy of the original material. Paula Cole hit this out of the park in her duet with PG, otherwise I've never heard it work as a remake. Certainly not here...
