Step 2: Breast Cancer Self Exam - Nipple Check

Stand in front of a mirror and visually examine your breasts:

Extend your arms upward and carefully look both at the front and the sides of your breast to evaluate the following:

• Do your breasts look as expected?
• Any discharge from your nipples?
• Any nipple and areola shape changes?
• Any nipple and areola direction changes?
• Any nipple and areola size changes?
• Any nipple and areolae texture changes?

Do your nipples look as expected?

• Any discharge from your nipples?
• Any nipple shape or direction changes?

Place your hands on your hips and carefully repeat the above instructions both for the front and the sides of your breast.

This self-exam is not a substitute to regular doctor visits. Take care of your health.
