Worcestershire, April 2007. For two days, professional British filmmakers and actors converege on Bewdley and Kidderminster to make what is believed to be the only charity fundraising horror movie ever made.

'Woes of the Departed' is a classic style ghost film, subtle and spooky, in the vein of M. R. James.

During pre-production, local Camcorder Club member and video student Mick Rendell offers to help out by allowing the film crew to use his home for a location. After a quick recce., it is soon decided that the house will suit the movie excellently. During the shoot, Mick videos the events to make a behind the scenes video for his Camcorder Club. This is that video.

'Woes of the Departed' itself will be made available online via the DiabetesUK charity website once it is ready. For those who are fans of old style horror such as Amicus, Hammer and the BBC Christmas Ghost Stories of the 1970's, the film will be a real treat.

'One Quiet Saturday'
A Behind the scenes documentary by Mick Rendell.

'Woes of the Departed'
Directed by R N Millward
Written by Annette Stephens
Starring Bob Harper, Martina Goodman, Rob Leetham and Tracey Briggs.

  • Looks cheap and amateurish. I thought this was going to be the making for The Departed.

  • @boamuro

    Then read the description properly.

This behind the scenes video is a student production for a professional film. The student offered his home as a location for the shoot during the films's development if he could make a behind the scenes video to use for his course.
