Man, I thought something good was going to happen when fire was involved! Lol.
-
your supposed to put the fire snake on both sides of one rail. obviously rules don't matter to them
-
they did this 20 miles west of Rochelle IL, well it really didn't work out, the grass started on fire the signals messed up from the heat and smoke, the FD and PD were on scene. total disaster. BNSF workers are laaaaazy.
-
Lol. I guess not or maybe they weren't using it right

What are the predecessor railroads here? Weren't Erie Lackawanna, NYC, and C&O the predecessors?

@meccaturbo I know that EL and C&O were but I'm not sure about the other one. Railfan & Railroad Magazine did a story about Marion in an issue last summer I believe.

@meccaturbo I know it was Erie, and I think C&O and N&W, but I'm not entirely sure.

Why do they do that?

@OhioRails To expand the rail, other than that, I forget why

Well the crossing gates went down at three nearby grade crossings. I don't know if it was because of this but the cars were going around the gates then the semi-trucks came and it's illegal for them to go around so they stopped up traffic and started honking horns so a flagger went down there. This happened twice that day. The first time they were stuck was the coolest though.
