This tutorial shows how to easily convert a 2D movie into 3D. The results can be viewed on the YouTube 'Stereoscopic 3D' channel. The software being used is 3DCombine and can be downloaded free from
http://www.3dcombine.com
The latest version doesn't require a separate tool to add the audio back in.

  • does this convert to color code?

  • @powerlockit Yes, choose the yellow/blue anaglyph option.

  • How can you tell if you're watching 3D done by the film studio rather than by a pirate who faked it?

  • @nishaJD Well - I guess the proof is in the pudding! If it looks good then does it matter? Usually the fake ones will look flat or worse be uncomfortable to view causing eye-strain.

  • @nishaJD One other tip. If you can turn the glasses round (left lens over right eye and vice-versa) and it doesn't look any better or worse then it's probably a poor conversion.

  • So that's how people do to fail 3D on videos and pictures. Alright. xP

To make 3D is about to have 2 cameras, not a program that will do it for you automatic..

  • @RScullion are you gay?

  • @SeriesOnlineFan Then it depends what formats your TV supports. Does it say? (I assume it's a 3D TV)?

  • @SeriesOnlineFan It depends on your display device. I assume you are using a 3D monitor or TV?

  • You can convert all your 2d videos to 3d for FREE and online only at 3DTV.com - check it out dude. No silly software to download. Just signup and convert!

  • @clamo636 I've just uploaded a new tutorial - depthmaps 101 which attempts to show how to do it with a few sample images. Hopefully that will help.
