  • The moment I can stand in my living room and play a random section of the Bruch Concerto, then wonder off and do the washing up, I'll know I'll have made it in my violining life!

It is one of my goals to play this piece, and you may have just given me a reason to go out and buy the sheet music. Thanks :-)

  • Good luck, Helen!

  • That was so funny, as soon as you referenced the rehearsal mark in the Bruch I fell over my chair to grab my music off the stand xD Sure enough, it was there. Very helpful, I struggle to make that part sound natural.

  • Hi Todd, just watched all of your videos. Brilliant ! quite helpful. I've got a question to ask. I am a beginner and can't afford pricey violin. So I've bought a cheap one and let a guy ( experienced violinist and seller of violin related products)talked me into buying a set of Warchal silver strings which he claimed will make the sound better. But instead of better sound, I found it worse. Is it just me or am I the victim of another salesman's scam?

  • thanke you for your lessons .

I love violin , and i want to buy a one , could you give me some avdises about how to khow tham my violin is good well made, and you violin's sound is beautiful , what it's type ? is it German , an dthanke you .

  • i remember when i first discovered 10ths... my hand was not happy

i too love bruch's violin concerto's, great choice. so satisfying to play

  • Violin playing is so easy! Well, it is if one follows your advice! I have learned so much from your videos. Thank you so much!

  • I can get tenths on my violin at higher positions but not on the piano at all. I can only stretch to an octave and a note more on the piano :P.

  • Yeah, 10ths strain my hands while practicing - but when you go back to playing octaves... it becomes so ridiculously easy. Makes me think that 10ths might be a really good 30 second warm up for the hands. They become so much more nimble - what do you think?

  • Hardest part of Paganini 24th (and the pizz part - the one measure where you pick with all the fingers rapidly is quite hard and requires patience hehe).

  • You get the sheets on IMSLP.
