This video describes how I installed a line output converter in my 1984 volkswagen rabbit cabriolet. Since I wanted to keep my stock radio which doesn't support RCA output, I had to install a line out converter (LOC) which would give me the RCA output needed to hook up my kenwood amp. I hope this helps some of you

  • ey man, i was wondering where you got your l.o.c?

  • @pkinwithbuds I bought this one from pepboys which cost around $20.

You can find them cheaper online. They are all basically the same.

  • Do u have to hook up a remote wire any where's. Coming from the amp to any where . I have the same convter. And having troubles. Also wooking up the pep boys converter does it still give ur amp and subs the power they should have

  • @VDUBnJEEP Your remote wire from your amp should be hooked up to your head unit. You don't have to hook up a remote wire to the LOC. Make sure you have all your positives and negatives hooked up correctly. You will get the power that you want for your system, The sound quality may not be as good as hooking up your RCA's directly to your headunit

  • Wat do i connext my L.O.C. To in my 2001 audi a6?? It has a bose stereo and i.wana keep it .. Please and thank you

  • @josehuerta73 That is where the line output converter comes in. In this video, I hooked up my amp to a stock head unit from 1984 using a LOC.

  • how did you power up ur amp?

  • @sirsaulsanch but what if its a stock head unit

  • @sparkknocker Same concept. Either way your going to hook it up to your speakers.

  • @josehuerta73 Remove your head unit, Find your remote wire (usually a blue wire with a white stripe, some will say "remote" on it.) Splice the wire and hook up the remote wire. Then route the wire to the back and hook it up to your amp.
