@Ignozi I agree. Also, pro tennis matches are nothing but slug matches anymore.. What is tennis coming to when players regularly hit 130 mph serves on GRASS and stay back?
@SILK334 It wasn't just a slice. He could hit flat through it, or come over it with spin (very rarely), but the most important thing was, even on the full run, from impossible situations he could drop the ball on a dime. And he NEVER missed. There's a reason why people like Arthur Ashe, John Newcombe, Rod Laver, Tony Roche, Fred Stolle, et. al. said: It was the best backhand ever.
@ripperduck I miss the olden days of tennis. Back when fist pumping, grunting and loud "COME ON"s did not exist. Back when the sport had an air of nobleness and respect about it. The game has evolved over the year, and one could argue it's not for the better.
Man were they laid back. Look at the ballboys and linesmen. They are just relaxing and enjoying the points themselves. Also the court seemed to have lights whereas now they don't. Hard to believe how small Center Court was back in the day....

This audio sounds way too good. Is this really live commentary or was it dubbed over?

I had no idea they weren't provided with a place to sit down on changeovers. Long matches must have been interesting!
