-
@hoggdawn bro no go around there is hill mountain on the other end side of the runway
-
i think it would fly but after 2 or 3 seconds it will make a nosedive.
-
Then the pilot needs to work on his forward planning skills lol
-
at 0:33 seconds what happens if the pilot rejects the take off?....
-
ya its been a couple of years they asphaulted it and built a terminal building
-
the past 30 years is good - no fatalities at all i dont see much risk anyway - the risk is in the hands of the pilot.. the runway is 12deg upsloped and basically a dornier doesnt need any brakes or reverse power to stop assuming an on the numbers touchdown.. but i have seen landings even on the middle of the runway - so brake hard and no problem - its really steep!
-
its like your mda is 9200 ft - the point of no return .. once u go below it u commit... there are a lot of factors - tailwind, updrafts from the valley below, turbulence so considering all these u decide whether to land or not.. there are no chances of going around if u reach the threshold.. i have done it in the sim but i dont think it would be a good idea in real, .. but the safety record for **
Iv landed twice at Lukla on route to base camp the whole place is crazy but it works,on the way back you just pray for clear weather ,by then you just want to get home, without Lukla you would have to walk another week, after just climbing Ama Dablam no thanks.i love NEPAL The Guardsman British ARMY
