quads and core, maybe like a little bit of shoulders

It's 80 percent legs man! Get big legs, work on your cardio, and the back comes with practice! :D

Get the ergometer, yes,BUT ride your bicycle everywhere, including to the dock ever AM., and ever PM.You can never cycle too much. Rowing AM&PM in HighSchool and summer Club, and on the bicycle 200-250 miles a week,,,,allowed me to later, attend the 1972 Olympic road cycling selections. The intensity of CREW, also gave me a toughness that many cyclist lacked. No, I did not go to Munich,,,,but 2 of the 8 roadies selected had been interval coached by the CREW coach at Wisconsin Madison.Nuff said!

US looked like they had recently started training together but they sure were fit. And I can guarantee they pulled under a 6 min. 2k. Your a regular guy on the US national team if you pull around 5:50 for the heavies

dude i so wanna join my colleges rowing team
i gotta work out my back and shoulders
Forget shoulders; it's all legs and back. Do some running or biking, or better yet, get an ergometer (Concept 2).

I care, it shows that the USA can be a contender in sculling which they havent really been and is so impressive. They'd been rowing together for 2 months, the Polish for years, but the US won. Plus all of these guys, losers in all, probably pull under 6 minutes for a 2K. You do better you prick.
